COLOMBO (News 1st): Travel restrictions between provinces will be imposed with effect from midnight on Tuesday (May 11) until the 30th of May, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva confirmed to News 1st.

Taking into account the rate of COVID-19 cases, movement restrictions could also be imposed within provinces as well, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva, the Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said on Tuesday (May 11).

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka recorded 1,895 COVID-19 cases on Thursday (06), said the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) on Friday (07).

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Panangama Grama Niladhari Division in the Kotmale Police area & Subadhralanka Mawatha  Grama Niladhari Division in the Trincomalee Police area were isolated with immediate effect, said Sri Lanka’s Army Commander General Shavendra Silva.

Accordingly, a total of 102 Grama Niladhari Divisions have been placed in isolation in the country.

Vavuniya District:

Kurukkalputhukkulam GN Division

Colombo District: Uggalla GN Division

Kalutara District: Pinwatta GN Division, Narampitiya GN Division, Piwatta West GN Division and Bandaragama East GN Division

Batticaloa District: Tissaweerasingam Square

The isolated areas are :

Matale District: Matale, Dambulla, Galewela & Naula Police areas

Kurunegala District: Pannala Police area, Udubeddawa Grama Niladhari Division, Gal-Amuna Grama Niladhari Division

Moneragala District: Siyambalanduwa Grama Niladhari Division, Helamulla Grama Niladhari Division
