Colombo (News 1st); The Health Ministry on Thursday (18) announced Quarantine Measures for travelers arriving from overseas during the pandemic of COVID-19.
Passengers arriving in Sri Lanka without receiving the COVID-19 vaccine will undergo quarantine for a period 07 days and must also undergo PCR tests on Day ONE and Day SEVEN.
If these tests return negative, the passengers will be released from hotel quarantine.
The balance quarantine period out of 14 days should be served as mandatory home quarantine under the supervision of the area MOH.
Sri Lankans and Foreign Nationals arriving in Sri Lanka two weeks after completing the recommended doses of the COVID-19 vaccination should produce the original copy of the vaccination certificate with a certified copy of the English language translation, if the certificate is not in the English language, to the Airport Health Officer.
Thereafter, Sri Lankans would be moved by government authorities to a Quarantine Center/Hotel while Tourists will be quarantined in a certified hotel for tourists.
The Health Ministry said both Sri Lankans and Foreign Nationals arriving in Sri Lanka two weeks after completing the recommended doses of the COVID-19 vaccination should undergo PCR tests within 24 hours of arrival from a Health Ministry approved private-sector laboratory / state-sector laboratory.
